2007 xpdc to JAKARTA .....

Year 2007 .... was years ago.. but ..d' year was well remembered  .... 

...coz...  this story was untold  ....

2007 ... considered as bumpy year ....   

...this is d' story..??? 

.... it was like YESTERdaY...   actually..   
.....  UNAVOIDABLE  ...  interesting to tell this experience  ... to share  ....???

All happened ...  after..

... attended BIIBBF in Pontianak, Kalimantan,  Indonesia .... in May..

... got accident on d' way to Malaysia border... hospitalized in Serian.. later brought back home by wife  ... to stay a week in RIPAS..
... at d' same time of accident... grandma passed away ....

... Yaza... eldest son...off to UK for cadet officer's course....

... Pu3... eldest daughter went to Aberdeen, Scotland, UK for Marine Biology degree course.....  

...  postponing xpdc trip to Sumatra, Indonesia... feeling unfit ... in June.. 

...  more ...

Therefore... took this special chance...  an opportunity NOt so...often ....

...by year end... 2007...   to Jakarta...  Bali ...
IF...  Uu want to see nn hear ... more..  please come back ....

I like making fancy decorated with destinations-towns' names .... 

.... firstly ...easily remembered where.. ..to go.. next..

That's me...     NO trouble to spend few $ for all these...

Clearly...13 December 2007... began d' journey..only with   ... 7 cars ...

End of d' year... seemed unpredictable weather...  raining was d' clue..

So...   began at day light... passing ... a rest in Miri, continued to SIBU.... 

... SIBU City road  was nearly impenetrable to  Lanang  Bridge ... looking at d' flooding water from d' nearby river ... over d' city area..

Ours ... vehicles were high big 4wd...  so easily got through ...passed this first testing...

Slowly... as others desperately ... wanted to go to their own directions as well ....

This was NOT d' worst part... as SIBU was  so often met with this disaster .... 

Arrived... in Kuching City...  past midnight ..

So ...   nice... panoramic morning view from the high place we stayed... 

The scenery surroundings were fantastic with clear morning view....

By far... clearly highlands .... mountain .... here in ... Kuching ... Sarawak, capital city..

CHONGLIN PLAZA.. SERVICE APARTMENT SUITE ......

Kota Kuching... charging us...  RM..$80.00  only...

This was d' place where we landed last night....???
A distant from central shops ...  area of city ......

Next proceeding  .... later.. soon after breakfast.... to Serian..next to border..
Soon past   immigration posts of both Malaysia n Indonesia...


While waiting at d' other border... stalls were all around.. 
.... where easily purchase.... 
.....hp cards...  many types.. accessible for most .. mobile...  nn cheap too...
For Indonesia...  only..

At border... new buildings mushroomed  .... took up ... nearly completed...

The man with yellow vest....in fact..  a parking attendant.. 
...  had to pay him at least RP2000 for using d' parking compound....

Lastly... arrival ....
Stayed at here... in.. Pontianak...

HOTEL GRANd MAHKOTA for....nOT quite cheap ....   RP350,000.00

Large parking available for tenants...  nnn for us BIG vehicles 4wd ...

Later....
Had to send our cars to d' port for shipment to Jakarta by container....

We were NOT using FERRY... as used to most people to cross with vehicles... to d' other main land... JAVA.....to Port... Tanjungpriok ....

Our NEXT destination.... JAKArta..  but vehicles had to be shipped...
Decided ..NOT to go with ferry.. worrying the SEA condition in d' month of DECEMBER ....  so optional choice by shipping ... using containers were additional cost for all of us travellers...
This was earlier arranged with Pa' Harry .. d' xpdc's agent schedulled d' routes...!!


Container..  just fit to ONE vehicle only...   going to be exported...shipped by sea to Jakarta .... choice ... Tanjungpriok... port

So d' wharf workers carefully tight up things necessary to be immobile while shipping...

Carefully.. locked up d' container...  for ONE vehicle ONLY...  remembered serial numbers.. a resit given as proof to be claimed later...
We were there to observe ...

Took measure  .... sure fully LOCKED... untouched...  by other people..

So...  worked DONE...  waiting for shipping ... as soon as d' ship was full with other containers.... according to d' port management for d' schedule of shipment.. 
BUT pending SEA's weather.. as did confirm...  ????
