Changing LABUAN .... as picturesque ...

Roads in town... direction to Industrial nn developing economic activities.... factories....

LABUAN.... much to say but ... contrary land ....

.... NOT to Brunei as...all in papers made easier for later government ...
...after colonial years here....
....got power managed to control sensitive important places.. like ports ......
nn so to Labuan... former master was here to extract riches of the East....
...as one sided advantage ????

..son, sOFFRe .. n daughter, SuZi .. married with a child each.... nn Fifth daughter is studying in KL.... while just-married is third, nn last, daughter is sixth....

Brief history background.....

Bride ' s mother Jumerah or Rahmah Ahmad was brought up in Brunei...Her father Pa' Mat came to Brunei in mid 60s...from far end of Borneo TAWAU.. as he looked for GREENER land.. during that economical hard times... Her father came with the whole family as her mother was blood related to my late father.. Her father was in fact a Javanese..RADEN inherited blood ... as during Japanese WAR times.. he was very young, ... ran away.. crossing the border for safer place and in search for peace and away from Japanese tortured ... so married in Tawau ...

Was in Brunei for a few years...nn even a younger brother born in Brunei too..

Whole family only returned home to Tawau... soon after her mother passed away nn buried in Kuala Belait.. late 60s.. ???

Brothers nn ONLY female in d' family.. moved to Labuan in d' later years.... Eldest brother passed away years ago.. before her father at the age of 70+ .. leaving another two in Labuan...nn one in Tawau.. all married..

Friday's Night ... came too .. late as BERINAI.. came to close.. end.. ZIKIR...

BUT.. managed to capture.. few actions... here..

BERINAI..... AS ...BEPACAR... already over..

NOT forgetting ... Wedding night used to be.... at least... happy night for all.. soon after... guests were served refreshment help Ur Self .....

So arrangement for KAROKE .... next...

Donating electrical goods for d' purpose to motivate people to participate for singing .. as Pg Yusof also prepared covered ...wrapped presents to be given away today...

...50 singers were registered to contribute singing of their own choice .... songs... nn of their own home brought disks..... NO contest... !!!

So... here POCO POCO ... once popular with all OUT dance... nn most females... ??

Hindustani .... NO.. just females-group got started..... rhythmically moved left, right back forward nn sides dances ...

D' lady host .... first came to lead .. nn so.. followed ...

Last..... all 50 motivated presents... given out.. until past 2.00am...???

Today... SATURDAY... LIMIT .. times for Guests to attend this Wedding ... began as early as 10.00 am until 2.00 pm...

The House was just on d' road side.. along Jalan Tun Mustafa... Kampong Batu Arang.. so easy reached for people being invited.. at any times between 10.00am until 2.00 pm ... except PARKING Ur own risk...!!! ...This was main road... to town...

Guests came and leaved ... but they were being served.. soon entered..

Most of the times.. Sokirman n wife were there at d' gate entrance to greet nn welcome incoming... invited guests ...

While people were relaxing with music....songs .......

As scheduled... a group youngsters with tambourine looked a like of KOMPANG... or HADRAH as Bruneian said.. came in as they hit hard with sound of music .... followed by bridegroom ...

YELLOW umbrella ... ????

This was symbolized.... RAJA SE HARI... meaning.. King on throne.... only a day.. lol.. !!!

COUPLE... RAJA SE HARI .... stood outside... so people could see nn share ... this ....happy day....

NOT least... 'DOA' .... pray time to bless from "Allah" ... to US nn ..newly married couple happy ever after..

"Cutting Wedding Cake" was part to be included.... NOT our custom actually.. eeh.. before allowed to take their seats for another even.... ???

Sitting on special decorated seats facing the crowd of guests .... nn witnessed by seating bride' grand parents on both sides...

The newly couple were served to eat.. as traditionally called "Makan Bersuap-suapan" as in Brunei .. or.. "MAKAN BERADAT" as in Semananjung Malaysia... had to spoon-feed... each other...

While Married Couple on d' stage of doing eating action... guests were still coming .. so host's parents had to stand to greet them coming...

Bottom right ... another COUple... old timer .. of coz.. but.. regular nn related guests from BRUNEi .... came over with a car..FULL with presents to be donated especially for this occasion... thank you... PG. YUSOF ....
