MARTAPURA ...... BANJARMASIN.... Still ..XPDC

                                         going to  MARTApura................ to... DUTA 

                                MALL , BANJARmasin.......

 BANJARMASIN.......... woo... little knowledge... about this city...lol....to be frank....!!!!

The Capital of SOUTH Kalimantan....  on delta island near d' junction river BARITO and MARTAPURA.

Banjarmasin sometimes known as  " RIVER CITY"...... D' population...... 444,000..people....  as much as....... BRUNEI DARUSSALAM as a whole...... nnn it is the 4th LARGEST City in BORneo.... 

Another...ONE... more.. UUu like to know is.... an OLD city.....FOUNDED.... 29 September 1529.... .much earlier...  ONE.... year before JAKARTA...... wow.. this is according... d' History... lol.. NOT me...

NOT least.. I would bring  UUu  to VISIT.... somewhere interesting.of...BANJARMASIN.......NEXT Blog.... !!!

MARTAPURA... is just another popular town to east.... up stream if used Martapura River...  d' economic is based on  its' rivers activities .... as much talked on  "Floating Market".......

BUT on d' other hand...MARTAPURA.... d' center of... known several local products'.... d' STONES.....  what kind of stones.... here..

Stones were brought... probably.. from Pangkalanbuun ... to be polished... then cut..  nn sold...    DIAMONDS.... another popular expensive  ..... if ever Uuu want to purchase here...

D' story.... here...  me...should have took my car for repair.... last night ...made appointment with d' mechanic..... BUT last....Boss took over my arrangement  nn asked me to join a bus group to Martapura......  many females...spouses turned off.....so..we 5 in a family had to go....   pity...  lol..  happy anywhere.....

Began..at 9.00am.....

Morning rain...didn't stop...us..12 altogether... with empty bus of more ..possible.... 30 people-seats...

Me...nn family... had been here... ONCE... last  SAMARinda...XPDC Trip in 2006..... COULD NOT manage to stop here... was constrained.... time-limited ...too... so...just passed through..... this little...town.. 

......NOW....here....we... to fulfill.... unfinished business...

 D' Gate-in.... structure... welcomed any.. tourists to Martapura... at least to see ...or buy somethings local...

LOOKING.... written NAMES of each shops as....... they used to be called...TOKO... shop..stalls.... selling merchandise... imports.... locals...   

BUT most... advertising...... products....as ..DIAMONDS......       or   INTAN....popularly known here...

ISO...local products.... guaranteed ....purchased stones....

Cheap...imported products were here...as well....  crystal...bought from CHINA...... similarity to  diamonds looked alike   .......

Bought...in bulk of crystal for..then make them into varieties of local designed... products... reexported...  ???

TWo examples......  

.....called "KECUBUNG" stone.....Rp 450,00..... for..... male' ring...  rather expensive... for selected stone..... lol...

For tourist take away... only...Rp 100,000... stoned curved Clock - map designed....

Unlike driving..... Uuu ' re freely changing seats... or moving...360 degrees' position...

Recording as much liked of d' surrounding....

Leaving Late noon as we agreed to meet 1.30...pm... for another place.....

Had to make used d' bus... paying rent for A day....meaning 24 hours...  nnn RP1,000,000.... lol...

Should be..BIG city...  traveling... Banjarmasin to Martapura.. only took a short distance...

An hour more... coz.. moving here...unlike...cities with highways....had to... confront with lots traffic lights...nnn noticeable...LOTs....d' roundabouts.....  too.

NOT to waste....most passengers...wanted to stop nnn spend times at DUTA MALL.... d' BIGGEST... larget shopping mall here in Banjarmasin....     

SHOPPING MALLs....   any countries..visited... NO different.... might be fews.. BUT most.... 

An easy place to shop.....  just going round Uu could get anythings....every things... just say it... BUT....money ready....

Countries like us..... make malls....  comfort place....  with cool  atmosphere...

BUT in far EAST...or WEST..... cold place..make their malls... warmer.. d' opposite... lol...

People spend times here.... even though... NO buying... BUT  .. just WINDOW SHOPPING.....

Unlike here.... NO obvious seasons...  .. otherwise...as seen in WEST...EAST...

Front Show rooms...keep on changing.....to attract... customers...

Spent...hours...walking around......ended...with empty stomach....

So.. NO wonder... choices.....between... young...old.....NO same taste... lol...

..Most purchasable.... places.. for younger people..... as observed... must....colourfull ....  cheap....    many...choices... certainly....waa.... lots....

Reason....   younger people.... needs only.... temporary usage..... taste keeps on changing..... like to see...  like to touch.... ????

So..  well......my wife....buying NOT for herself...     lol..... somebody at ...HOME.....

Could NOT stay all  day...   so had to be back to hotel too.....

OUR...friends cars were here.... by their own..... looking for workshops...too

Jalan Jenreral Sudirman.....  a main  ROAD...     inside...Central Banjarmasin..... 

People........vehicles everywhere.... but .....  moving......

Had to turn back...... passing d' bridge....of Martapura River...... to    HOTEL  ... PALM.....                       ..............  soon arriving.....

Boss was being interviewed by tv people here... Banjarmasin....

End.... full day.....journey to Martapura.....nn  to DUTA MALL......
