CYCLING ...HABITAT DAY.. Ministry of Development

SUNDAY 30 JANUARY 2011.......

       CYCLING for  WORLD HABITAT DAY 2010

       HOUSING DEVELOPING DEVELOPMENT,

       MINISTRY OF DEVELOPMENT

as said d' theme...BETTER CITY, BETTER LIFE..

..OK what was d' connection with CYCLING...

Let's think...  n see...

promoting cycling... with healthy life...  transportation alternative...

to LOVE cycling...Uu.. must involve  

... BOSS ..high.. authority must..  active to generate  .. people concern with cycling..   ROLE model...   lol...

Again..   why HOUSING..  concern ...???  simple... cycling around HOUSING areas...   MORE safe...   safer...  accidents can happened.. BUT not too obvious with people around....   

And...MOST..... HOusing Department..Committees  were MOST active to organize.. BICYCLETHON ...   !!!..     bravo....

NOT too concern to participate today's cycling coz ..had to attend Wedding..

So...gamble my times...  would go back earlier.....  

As early as 7.40am    ...organizer....   BEGAN   d' morning with warm UP session.....   before CYCLING..

Joined... by d' Minister of Development himself.. Pehin...  nn Datin..

Full name is...Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman....  wow... 

Another..CYCLIST enthusiast...   other Minister..Pehin Yahya...  Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama  Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya.. Minister of  Industry and Primary Resources..  had been mentioned his involvement in cyling..in my previous blog ....

STARTING point was at d' Housing Development Department itself.....

Not all cyclists... were ready to warm...  they just watch...

DOA.. a pray to bless.. in return..    for Safe RIDE...  nn  back .. to starting point..   hopefully.. 

Here.. joined by another veteran... a grandfather.. Pengiran Haji Rosli.. with yellow jersey....  nn..   fellow biker.. Haji Mustafa.... red white jersey..

     

To begin TAKE OFF...  with...big sound needed...  
so Pehind Suyoi..    ready....   but.....NOT to take...part.....

Amounting MORE 200 cyclists....     

So... POLICE Riders... all in white...  also needed...

.... to help.. traffic..   movements... nn  vehicles.. congestion....

Turned left.. Lapangan Terbang Lama Road..to Jalan Berakas... kept on left all d' times...

Approaching... traffic lights... four junctions... on d' right Housing Lambak Kanan..

so...  another left turned.... to By Pass road to Kg. Lambak  ...

By cycling... Uu could find closer... nn appreciate  ...how good  roads were.. smooth... well cared..  houses.. commercial buildings..  were well placed...

Sometimes... could NOT express... in words... unless Uu see by Ur own eyes....

Sometimes people NEVER thank to our government... even wanted.. MORE... nn if POSSIBLE... all FREE...

Our journey... passing By Pass  to ROYAL FLIGHTS Road   before turning right... RIMBA HOUSING...

Mixture fashions of HOUSES here...  old ready houses... Much of these  had been looked different coz.. people already put additional modification to bigger houses...  unrecognizable.. when first moved here..looked MONO..  one floor houses.. 

On left side.. houses..  NEW... housing design.. two floors ready..  meant for ONE family... BUT Bruneian got many... look at d' cars outside d' house.. four..

Another housing  areas... detached doubles  nn..  barracks looked like..on right...

Less COST... budget low houses.... only low income.. purchasable... cheaper..than BRANDED car...  better....than NOTHING..

 NOT a kilometer...distant.. different panoramic ...scene...  WHY...????

RICH......  nn   POOR..  ..... oh... NO

BIG HOUSES also asked for FREE land lots...  

Could BUY bigger land lots.. but ...HERE... preferable

Infrastructure... for d' housing..  BEST.. coz...got.. if NOT all.. schools... police St.  shops..  water pipes... electricity..  mosque..  sewerages...  many more....  easy life nowadays...

BUT in future...  Brunei has LESS land for citizens... so this would be HISTORY....  

Passing...  d' lane here.. preferably ..ease...our mind...  love d' scene...

Keep on Left...   passing through round about.. but still left turn ....

Arrived.. to shopping... arcade..  here.. GIANT...

Still... early.. at 9.00am   so..... GIANT.. still closed.. 

Cycling....  Uu need only buying a bicycle..... last longer...... need NOT ..  FUEL...

DEVELOPED countries are NOW... encouraging their people using back to bicycles...

Cities.. like  LONDON...  PARIS...  AMSTERDAM..   ROME... TOKYO.... nn many others...

Already... reserved... parking places.. for bicycles...

A long time ago I used bicycle to school....to SOASC....

D' lane shaded walkway was meant for bicycles' parking....  hundreds...

Have Uu.. been to SOASC...  ??..   never mind....   

Few young cyclists... here..   strong as observed...

Went through...JERUDONG Road...  passing d' HOTEL..   later... MOSQUE....

Another PIT Stop.. at Sengkurong Mosque....

Was able to request.. photo with Pehin Yahya...   nn Haji Mohd Zin... Deputy Permanent Secretary at d' ministry of Development...

Stopped a while at another  mosque.. proceeding to Gadong... to KatoK.. another  Housing area..had to make U turn back to Gadong...

Back to FINISHING point.... by late 11.30an... just time home in hurry...

No time to wait... for LUCKY... numbers...   ???
