Ready for DEPARTURe... today 29 December 2010....

D' journey would take as our schedule from PONTIANAK... to TAYAN.... to border towns.. ENTIKONG - TEBEDU.. to SERIAN.... nn possible DESTINATION.....would be SRI AMAN. Sarawak.....

These places would BE enough ... for a LONG... day drive.....

So... today's assemble get together at d' HOTEL KAPUAS's lounge ... at d' hotel's reception where we had to settle out first d' remaining THREE days rents... checked out time at 9.00 am..

While...waiting... times for reading... Today's NEWS....

............. seemed sound - Nationalist news...... fury about d' first round game... ...beaten by Malaysia.....

............somewhere... bad roads condition.. at outskirts ...by bad weather at this end of d' year ... raining ....

...NOT ...least... criminals.... accidents.... nn of coz POLITICs.... local.. nn outside... foreign news.... wah... here..... reading took times understanding.. language.. sometimes... hardly to translate....
Indonesian language seems easy to listen-read ... but hardly interpreted... as old generation also LOST their own language... especially "KORAN" .. as called.. for Indonessian Newspapers nowadays shown news with written journalism purely mixed Indonesian - western English... NO longer Hollander's colonialism... influenced ....

LAST looked at d' surroundings.. HOTEL KAPUAS ...

OFFER for special 2 Days stay at this hotel ... end of d' year.. special concert as well here...

Usually leaving Pontianak at around 9.00 am nnn expecting arrival at d' border at around 5.00 pm, yes.. 8 - 9 hours ... plus resting nn lunch times.. somewhere on d' way....

CARs ready to GO...

PACKed all necessary things at d' rear seats... simple.. useful clothings ... easy-reached were kept on TOP...

Began to move .. tailing behind... so see... SELAMAT JALAN's .... arch

Wow... same picture as on top... !!! ... shop - blocks on left side.. as we drove along d' lane leaving d' hotel...

Our journey.. leaving PONTIANAK ... following d' other way round.. d' road where we came... now,.. Pontianak-TAYAN...
NOT ... usual public long road - route to border .... on left turned...

This road journey.. as seen... typical motorbikes' - place, ... more owners.... as seen occupied half-fulled road vehicles..
.... nn look at... right-left side of d' road...

New place... more houses began to mushroom.... along d' road..

...still UNfinished .. road project ..d' last 4 years... with MORE ...30 kilometers to go...

Raining made d' road muddy... or else... obviously up - down.. undulating stones - ground....

BUT ...easy access nn FAST to d' border ... 3 hours differences...

Stopped a while ..... NOT too hot... but ..cool weather plus aircon.. forcing people to find where... good location for ... WC ..
.. especially for females... ????
So.. let's join in... members.. !!!

Coincidentally ..... driving along this road .. a red Brunei bus passed by ....

Looked ..carefully... d' plate licence.. similar number.. with our Boss.. Hj Ibrahim.... 1316.... nn he spoke to d' DRIVER to turn back using old route.. this road NOT worthy for public paid passengers bus...

His company fully licensed to lift passengers from Brunei to Pontianak nn back.. so fully resposibility as this route is NOT assigned with d' treaty covered insurance...

Remember .. KH8936.. was stranded nn had to be towed from Balai Berkuak.. to Tayan.. nn to Pontianak.. coz lining gear burnt out.... now today... on d'road ready to move forward... with three passengers .... just checked out..!!!

Approaching Tayan.. turned left.. just a quarter journey completed before border.... but still early...

Noon.... lunch at Eating House... quite a few houses provided FOODs for long distant travelers ...

Turned left for Entikong.... NOT NOYAN on d' right .... but keep on driving

At border .... ENTIKONG we had applied road tax nn insurance for a period of times traveled... in Kalimantan, Indonesia.... so all these to be surrendered once on d' border to d' Kalimanatan's custom authority ......

TEBEDU... now, Sarawak, Malaysian... after border filling Station.. kept on driving to.. SERIAN.... another rest stop....

SERIAN... meeting place for ALL of us... another casualty... car BW 2633 .. being towed for engine problem coz by leaking oil.... before Malaysian's border

........matter WORSEN... raining nn getting late... workshop closed... so problem NOT solved.. had to TOW Hj Maramit nn his spouse with his car ... as far as we could...

Late evening at Sri Aman.. NOT entered yet.. had to take dinner before proceeding to town...

..d' Eating stalls outside... three junctions, providing rest place for people going to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu or Miri... or d' people in Sri Aman ...

Before 10.00pm .. a new Hotel Good View... just a few kilometers before Sri Aman provided ample place to stay ... a night at Room 218..

Morning... few cars, FOUR ... already leaving early.. including TOWEd car.. so early ...

Leaving d' place ..Sri Aman.. slowly together with remaining cars...

8.15..am ... soon approaching .... another place.. Filling Station..

On d' other side.... d' stalls.. best place for morning breakfast .... this area somewhere at Betong... just only a quarter Sarawak's long stretch road journey before arriving HOME...

Utilities... toilets mainly provided for visitors dropped by.....
